Research Interests:
Samuel studies the formation of monetary unions, focusing on how economies that join a monetary union differ from those that do not, particularly in markets with exchange rate frictions. His broader interests include monetary economics and international economics.
Road to the Moody School:
Samuel began studying economics at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) in 2016 and completed his master’s degree in economics at the University of São Paulo in Ribeirão Preto (USP慠P) in 2022. He has also worked as a mathematics instructor. In his free time, he enjoys sports, especially basketball, and spending time with family and friends.
