About this game

Hamsterballin’ is an arcade racing game where players can play as cute, cuddly hamsters racing through a variety of tracks. Rather than traditional racing in karts, you race in hamsterballs that roll and bounce around the track. Master the hamsterball’s unique physics to surpass your fellow racers and discover shortcuts.

Choose your favorite Hamster from a choice of five costumes and four colors. This means you can pick from up to 20 costume/color combinations! Players can pick from the pilot, spooky, detective, clown, and nutcracker costume options. Each costume will also feature a unique kart interior themed appropriately. After picking your favorite costume, pick from the colors of red, blue, yellow, and green. Once you have your costume/color combination, you’ll be ready to get on the track.

Hamsterballin’ features three unique tracks, each with their own personal aesthetic and musical track. Each track will have something new to offer players, and features exciting setpieces that players will get the chance to race through. “Roulette Raceway” will give you the chance to race a large rotating roulette and conveyor belts that will influence your movement. Racing through “Cogwork Circuit” will challenge the player to navigate its winding tunnels and control your hamsterball through speedy downhill segments. The final track, “Gacha Galaxy” will offer the players an incredible spectacle and challenge as they race around the humongous gacha machine in the center of the track.

Utilize fun and creative pickup items to get an edge on your competitors. Hamsterballin’ features seven unique items to use and master. Items like the jetpack, speed boost, and spring will influence your movement, and skillful players can use these items to cross gaps or create immediate shortcuts. Players can also have the option to influence other racers directly using the bomb or dice wand powerups. If you just want to be left alone at the front of the pack, the shield and jax items can help you maintain your lead and slow down players behind you. Master the item system to truly become a Hasmterballin’ expert.

Hamsterballin’ was made by the students of Cohort 35 at 麻豆社 Guildhall as part of their Team Game Project II course over the course of a 12-week development cycle.

ArachNOT poster

2D Game | Momentum

In this single-player puzzle game, the player is tested by solving each level with a wide range of creativity to reach the top of the den. The game features a pixelated art style theme that makes our spider look adorable rather than viewing it as a fearful creature.

ArachNOT follows a spider with its defective web ability, where it cannot climb walls or use its own web to climb upwards. Instead, its web acts like a trampoline or a grappler depending on its use. This disability gets mocked at by other spiders at the den, which in turn, the spider decided enough was enough. This journey to the very top of the spider’s den is its one goal; despite the constant mocking from the others, the spider’s difference is what motivated it to climb up… or bounce up.

Across over 18 levels, the spider must maneuver through obstacles and avoid environmental hazards. Using the controller, the spider can shoot web nodes at sticky walls, creating a trampoline for the spider to bounce on. The spider can also create a web node against crates; the web pulls the crates closer to the wall or another crate. Obtaining the end crystals to reach the top of the spider’s den is the key goal of this game, leaving a message that despite anyone’s difference, anything is possible.

Every day is the same old thing: he has to collect the souls of people who've been working way too hard, especially game developers. These developers collapse at their desks after having to meet one too many deadlines. The Reaper isn't mean; he's just really tired. His real dream is to take a long vacation in the peaceful fields of heaven, but he can't rest until he's led enough souls to the other side.

And so the Reaper sets off to collect as many souls as he can, as fast as he can, and return them to their resting place, in order to meet his quota and finally obtain some much needed time off.
