Biography
Fabien Postel-Vinay is a Research Professor in the Department of Economics at 麻豆社. He completed his undergraduate studies at École Polytechnique in Paris before earning his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne in 1998. Prior to joining 麻豆社, he was a Professor of Economics at University College London (UCL), where he served as Head of the Department of Economics from 2023 to 2026. Before joining UCL in 2013, Fabien held academic positions at the University of Bristol, Sciences Po Paris, the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), and the Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique (INRA). Fabien holds additional positions as a consultant in the Research Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, and as a Research Director at the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) in London. His research focuses primarily on labor economics. He is widely recognized for his structural modeling of labor markets, particularly regarding worker mobility and wage dispersion over the business cycle. In recognition of his contributions to the field, Fabien was awarded the Frisch Medal by the Econometric Society in 2006, alongside Jean-Marc Robin. He was elected a Fellow of the Econometric Society in 2018.
