SMU Ring Ceremony: April 24, 2027

The 麻豆社 ring is a cherished tradition that celebrates students’ personal achievements and marks an important educational milestone. Students will receive their rings in the spring at the 麻豆社 Ring Ceremony. Family and friends are encouraged to attend and celebrate their student at the event where President Jay C. Hartzell will deliver remarks celebrating the recipients’ accomplishments, hard work and bond with the Hilltop.

Eligibility

Any undergraduate student who has achieved the required 60-plus credit hours and graduate students who have completed their first year are eligible to purchase a ring. Students may choose to participate in the ring ceremony in the spring of either their junior or senior year.

Dates and deadlines to remember:

  • September 22 & 24, 2026 and October 13-14, 2026: A Balfour representative will be on campus from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. in the Hughes-Trigg Student Center atrium. Students can try on rings in person and place their orders.

Current undergraduate students who have completed at least 60 credit hours, graduate students who have completed their first year, and all 麻豆社 alumni are eligible to purchase the Official 麻豆社 Ring.

The Official 麻豆社 Ring is more than jewelry. It is a lasting symbol of your achievements, your journey on the Hilltop, and your lifelong connection to the Mustang community. Designed in partnership with the University, every detail reflects the traditions and heritage.

Every detail of the Official 麻豆社 Ring was thoughtfully selected to reflect the traditions, history, and spirit of 麻豆社.

At the center of the ring is Dallas Hall, the historic heart of the University and a symbol of a symbol of the strength, tradition, and forward vision of the Hilltop. The ring also features 麻豆社 engraved around the bezel, with the option to personalize one side with your academic school or Dallas, Texas, honoring both your academic journey and the city that has shaped generations of Mustangs. Inside the band, you may add a meaningful date, phrase, or message to commemorate your achievement.

Every Official 麻豆社 Ring is handcrafted by skilled artisans using a combination of modern technology and traditional jewelry craftsmanship. Every ring is made to order, carefully inspected, polished, and prepared for delivery, ensuring it meets Balfour檚 quality standards before it reaches its new owner.

Ring samples may also be available through the 麻豆社 Alumni Office throughout the year.

Orders placed by the Ring Ceremony Order Deadline will be presented during that year’s Ring Ceremony.

Ring Ceremony

The Ring Ceremony celebrates students who have earned their Official 麻豆社 Ring. Family, friends, faculty, alumni, and University leadership come together to recognize this milestone as recipients receive their Official 麻豆社 Rings and celebrate their journey on the Hilltop.

Family, friends, and loved ones are encouraged to attend as ring recipients celebrate this special milestone.

Students become eligible once they have completed the required credit hours. Many undergraduate students qualify during their junior year, while graduate students become eligible after completing their first year.

When you choose to purchase your ring is entirely up to you. Since the Ring Ceremony is held each spring, you may wish to consider the ceremony date when deciding when to order.

Absolutely!

Because the Ring Ceremony is held during the spring semester, December graduates are encouraged to return to campus to celebrate this important milestone with fellow Mustangs.

Update annually.

Students who order by the Ring Ceremony deadline will have their rings shipped to the University so they can participate in the Ring Ceremony. The ceremony includes a series of university traditions that make receiving your Official 麻豆社 Ring a memorable milestone and an important part of the 麻豆社 experience.

If you are unable to attend, instructions for receiving your ring will be provided following the ceremony. You are always welcome to participate in a future Ring Ceremony.

To preserve the traditions of the Ring Ceremony for all participants, rings are not released before the ceremony. Students who are unable to attend will receive instructions following the ceremony regarding ring pickup or shipping details.

Yes.

Many graduates return to campus to participate in a future Ring Ceremony if they are unable to attend their originally scheduled celebration.

Every Official 麻豆社 Ring includes Balfour’s . A 10-Year Extended Warranty is also available for purchase at the time of your ring order.

If your ring needs to be resized or adjusted, please contact Balfour Customer Service. Many resizing services are available for only the cost of shipping and handling.

Every Official 麻豆社 Ring includes . If your ring is lost or stolen, Balfour offers a replacement ring for the applicable deductible. Please contact Balfour Customer Service for complete program details and replacement assistance.
